Stress and Anxiety Lecture with Dr. Roca

  • Yoga increases stress resiliency and helps to reduce anxiety and depression. But what happens when you have a yoga practice or a relaxation practice yet you still feel anxious or stressed? We’ll discuss these topics-from biochemistry to biofeedback. Come with questions and experiences to share. Dr Roca will inspire you to think broadly about the effects of stress, anxiety, and depression to think deeply about their underlying causes.

Dr. Henri Roca, Medical Director of the Integrative Medicine Program at Greenwich Hospital, is a Diplomat of both the American Board of Holistic Integrative Medicine. He currently provides both primary care and consultation services across all ages. Dr. Roca serves on behalf of Yale as a member of the Executive Board of the Consortia of Academic Health Center for Inegrative Medicine. He received his M.D. from Louisiana State University, completing his internship and residency in Family Medicine through Marshall University. He is an acupuncturist, hypnotherapist, practices biofeedback, and is skilled in the use of herbs, vitamins, and supplements. He is trained by Institute for Functional Medicine and LSU School of Medicine. He believes in empowering individuals to their best place of health by resolving the underlying causes of illness.

This groundbreaking documentary describes yoga’s numerous branches, recounts the fascinating biographies of the foremost yoga masters, and explored yoga’s astonishing medical potential. Featured in the film are B.K.S. Iyengar, Georg Feuerstein, T.K.V. Desikachar, Krishna Das, Dr. Oz, and more! Dress comfortably, bring a snack. All are welcome. This event is by donation.
