Dinner and a Movie with Laura DePreta

  • Come to Dew for a clean eating community event featuring delicious, homemade, mostly vegan and gluten free dishes to help you transition into Winter healthfully! Laura DePreta is offering dinner before we screen More Than Honey. Already hailed as a definitive work on the subject, this comprehensive documentary examines the disappearance of honeybee populations worldwide. Please reserve your spot by Thursday, Dec 4, so that Laura may plan and prepare the food. Cost is 25 dollars per person, with advanced registration required if you want to include dinner. All are welcome to attend, dinner or not. (Donations are not required but welcome at the door to cover studio overhead- 10 dollars suggested, and amount appreciated.) Menu includes Vegetarian shepherd’s pie, Wild rice with balsamic mushrooms, Winter greens salad, Apple crisp, and yummy Date sweetened brownies.

In this talk, we will delve into topics like Fall nutrition, how our muscles talk to us and how we can learn to listen better, and more. What a Pain in the Neck! with Bernadette Birney

  • Is your neck one of the places where you tend to hang onto stress? Yoga can absolutely help with that, but for some of us spending a lot of time on our hands can also exacerbate cranky necks. What’s a yogi to do? Come learn some alignment maps designed to help you decompress your neck! This workshop may change the way you think about your practice, and change the way you move, in a good way. We’ll also do some specific neck stretches that are gentle but effective, and do some active release therapies that will help free up your tight neck muscles. Please bring a couple of tennis balls or similar kinds of balls with you. Cost is 40 dollars per person.
