Fire Practice: Igniting Your Light at the Navel Center with Joe Somodi

  • Yoga is about transformation. The only way to do this is to approach the fire. This workshop is about discovering that inner spark that will ignite your fire and bring about lasting change. The approach is simple. We will use the navel center as our focus. You will incorporate breathing techniques, visualizations, mantra, and yoga postures to create a palpable energetic experience at the navel. Once you have captured and contained it, you will move that energy where it needs to go through a guided meditation for profound healing and empowerment. The practice will help you become more creative, courageous and resilient, ultimately helping you cope with life’s most uncertain moments. If these are the qualities you hope to cultivate in your practice, then this workshop is perfect for you. Come with an empty stomach and an open heart.

Radical Relaxation: Evolution of a Revolution with Joe Somodi

  • This workshop will teach you how to radically relax but in the most productive and meaningful way. Why is this relaxation radical? Because very few people understand the physical components that induce the body into a deeper state of rest and even less actually practice it on a regular basis. Not only will you learn what the body needs in order to relax, you will receive countless tools for a daily practice. Passive relaxation is very popular… watching television, hanging out with friends or getting a massage. This workshop is about active involvement. It’s about using internal awareness, visualizations, physical poses and breath work to release stress and anxiety. This workshop will be very interactive. You will be asked to reflect on your own life and make new commitments. Independent studies will give you the opportunity to be in the driver’s seat of your own relaxation destination. You will also receive a mini workbook that will give you space to reflect and jot down all your ah ha moments. You are in for a radical ride… Are you ready to truly relax?

The Path to Samādhi – Patanjali and his Sūtras

  • The Yoga Sūtras of Patanjali are the most widely known text in yoga philosophy. These sūtras are very short and cryptic, so it is important to know how to interpret them and apply them in one’s daily practice. This workshop will begin with the mythical story of Patanjali’s origins and what is known of the historical person. Then we will take a helicopter view of the Yoga Sūtras to understand the major themes of the text and its deeper structure, and see its usefulness as a practical guide for a spiritual life. 30 dollars per person. Pre registration is highly recommended.
